Dhaka, May 7 (H.S.): Construction materials valued at around 62 million Taka have been stolen from sites linked to the Akhaura-Agartala Land Port Four-Lane Highway Project, managed by Fcon Infrastructure Limited at the Ashuganj River Port in Brahmanbaria, Bangladesh.
The joint Indian-Bangladeshi venture has faced theft issues, prompting Sudhir Kumar, the company’s head of administration, to file a complaint for the fourth time at Brahmanbaria Sadar Model Police Station. The police registered the case, which accuses unidentified individuals. Kumar highlighted the lack of action from law enforcement on previous complaints following unrest in July-August last year.
The thefts, occurring between August 5 and 12 from 14 sites, coincided with the departure of Indian and Bangladeshi workers due to the unrest.
