Moving forward and focusing on upcoming matches is necessary: Harshit Rana

KKR's fast bowler Harshit Rana

New Delhi, April 29 (HS): Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) fast bowler Harshit Rana expressed confidence on Tuesday that the team will return to the path of victory ahead of their match against Delhi Capitals. At a press conference held on the eve of the match on Monday, Rana emphasized the need to forget recent losses and focus on future challenges.

Harshit Rana said, The sooner we can move on from the results of our last two matches, the better it will be for us. If we dwell too much on those losses, it could affect the team’s morale. We need to aim to win all our upcoming matches now.

Regarding the nature of the pitch at Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium, Rana said, There is generally less bounce here. It was evident in our last encounter that the ball was slowing down, and the Royal Challengers Bangalore bowlers took advantage of that.

He stated that it is essential for the team to quickly understand the nature of the playing field and strategize accordingly to succeed.

Praising Kolkata’s Indian bowling unit, Harshit noted, Our Indian bowling attack is very strong. There is no lack in any aspect. Our bowling has been quite effective throughout the tournament.

Talking about his personal performance, Rana mentioned that he wants to do even better this season.

He stated, Reverse swing has become very important now. Additionally, we can use saliva on the ball again, making it easier to bowl in the final overs.

Appreciating the support staff, Rana specifically mentioned assistant coach Abhishek Nair. He said, Abhishek Nair has a deep understanding of cricket and is well acquainted with the mindset of Indian players. His presence has positively impacted my game as well.

Kolkata Knight Riders have played nine matches in the season so far, winning three of them. Their last match against Punjab Kings was canceled due to rain. The team is now hoping for a strong comeback against Delhi Capitals, who are currently in fourth place in the points table with 12 points from nine matches.
