Delhi, 30 April (H.S.): On Wednesday, the Pakistan Army breached a ceasefire in Jammu and Kashmir for the sixth consecutive day, prompting a swift response from the Indian Army to what they described as “unprovoked small-arms fire.”
The Indian Army reported unprovoked firing by Pakistani posts across the Line of Control, particularly in the Naushera, Sunderbani, and Akhnoor sectors, as well as in Baramulla, Kupwara, and the Pargwal Sector. This pattern of firing has persisted since April 24.
The situation follows a tragic terrorist attack on April 22 in Pahalgam, where at least 26 civilians lost their lives. This incident is noted as one of the most severe attacks on Indian civilians since the Mumbai attacks of 2008 and was claimed by a lesser-known militant group, The Resistance Front. In response, India has taken punitive measures against Pakistan, including suspending the Indus Waters Treaty.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized a commitment to pursuing terrorists and their supporters relentlessly, affirming that terrorism will not break India’s spirit.
