Delhi, 30 April (H.S.): Union Home Minister Amit Shah praised the Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs’ decision, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to include caste census in the upcoming census, describing it as a historic step toward social justice.
In a post on X, Shah noted that this decision rectifies a historical wrong and demonstrates a commitment to social equity for all societal sections. He criticized the Congress and allied parties for opposing caste enumeration during their tenure but using it as an electoral strategy while in opposition.
The decision aims to empower marginalized communities and foster inclusion and progress for the underprivileged.
