
New Delhi, May 1 (H.S.): In April, Goods and Services Tax (GST) collections rose by 12.6% year-on-year to ₹2.37 lakh crore, the highest ever recorded. Last April’s collection was ₹2.10 lakh crore, while March’s collection was ₹1.96 lakh crore. Domestic transaction GST increased by 10.7% to approximately ₹1.9 lakh crore, and GST from imports grew by 20.8% to ₹46,913 crore. Refunds issued rose sharply by 48.3% to ₹27,341 crore. After accounting for these refunds, the net GST collection in April increased by 9.1% to over ₹2.09 lakh crore. March also saw a 10% rise in collections compared to February, achieving an 11-month peak.
