NEET-UG 2025 set for Sunday, with over 22.7 lakh candidates nationwide

NEET-UG 2025

Delhi, 4 May (H.S.): The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Undergraduate (NEET-UG) 2025 is set for Sunday, with over 22.7 lakh candidates expected to participate at 5,453 centres across more than 500 cities in India. In response to past controversies, including paper leaks and irregularities in 2024, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has enhanced security and monitoring protocols.

A three-tier surveillance system will be implemented at the district, state, and centre levels. Most centres will be based in government and government-aided institutions. To maintain transparency and prevent malpractice, detailed guidelines have been issued alongside admit cards and exam city slips, urging candidates to follow the NTA’s rules closely. Violations such as cheating or impersonation will result in strict consequences, including cancellation of results and a three-year ban on future NTA exams.

The NTA has warned candidates against seeking influence from unverified sources regarding exam results and admissions, advising them to rely solely on official updates from the NTA’s website. This year’s measures aim to restore credibility and ensure a just examination process. Additionally, considering the afternoon session amidst summer heat, authorities have been directed to provide essential facilities like drinking water, electricity, portable toilets, and emergency medical services.
