Delhi, 6 May (H.S.): In a significant advancement for emergency healthcare, the Central Government has launched the Cashless Treatment of Road Accident Victims Scheme, 2025, enabling cashless medical treatment for road accident victims nationwide.

As per the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, these victims can receive cashless treatment up to ₹1.5 lakh for seven days from the accident date at designated hospitals. The scheme, effective from May 5, 2025, aims to minimize delays in trauma care and facilitate immediate medical attention during the critical golden hour post-accident.

Treatment at designated hospitals will provide full cashless services, while only stabilization services will be available at non-designated hospitals. This initiative, announced by Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, is part of the government’s commitment to enhance road safety and emergency healthcare infrastructure.
