Sonitpur (Assam), 6 May (HS): A horrific end of love has come to light in Tezpur, where the father of three children was brutally murdered. This whole incident seems like a Ek Phool Do Mali story, but its end was very painful and full of crime.

According to official information received from the police on Tuesday, Champa Gowala, a resident of Harigaon, Tezpur, who was living in a rented house in Ketekibari area after the death of her husband Satyen Gowala, was in a love affair with two men – Shankar Nayak and Rafikul Islam.

Of these, Rafikul Islam was a resident of Tezpur Purbanchal and was also the father of three children. Champa and Rafikul had an illicit relationship, which Champa’s other lover Shankar was not aware of. But when he came to know about this relationship, he conspired with Champa to eliminate Rafikul.

As part of the conspiracy, Champa called Rafikul to her house on Monday night. As soon as Rafikul, who worked as a labourer, reached Champa’s rented house, Champa and Shankar brutally killed him and threw the body on the roadside.

After finding Rafikul’s body, Champa herself called his family and informed them that his body was lying on the roadside. On receiving the information, Kacharigaon police immediately started the investigation and within a few hours it became clear that Champa and Shankar were involved in this murder.

Within just 10 hours of the murder, the police arrested both the accused. During interrogation, both have confessed their crime. The police are engaged in further investigation of the case.
