Delhi, 7 May (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the Indian Armed Forces for their recent non-escalatory strikes against terrorist infrastructures in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), following Operation Sindoor. This was disclosed to the Union Cabinet during their first meeting post-strike, where Modi’s leadership received commendation.
After the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, he granted the Armed Forces full operational autonomy to select targets and execute responses. Modi is set to inform President Droupadi Murmu about the operation.
An all-party meeting is scheduled for Thursday to discuss the matter. The Cabinet Committee on Security convened three times since the attack, and Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri characterized Operation Sindoor as proportionate and necessary in light of the recent attack.
