Kathmandu, May 7 (HS): Following the terrorist attack in Pahalgam and India’s retaliation, a high-level Pakistani army delegation has arrived in Nepal, leading to government criticism. Concerns regarding the government’s foreign policy have arisen, with ruling party MPs demanding the delegation’s prompt return.
Independent MP Dr. Amaresh Singh questioned the invitation extended to the Pakistani delegation on May 4, amidst heightened tensions between India and Pakistan. He sought clarity on the government’s intentions during this precarious period.
Former Foreign Minister N.P. Saud echoed these sentiments, asserting that the delegation’s visit, despite being pre-scheduled, was inappropriate and should be postponed.
Furthermore, Senior Vice President of the Democratic Socialist Party, Sarvendranath Shukla, emphasized that Nepal must maintain distance from Pakistan and align with India in combating terrorism to avoid global isolation.
