New Delhi, May 11 (HS): The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has now proposed cooperation to India and Pakistan on the Kashmir issue. In a post on the social media platform ‘Truth’ today, Sunday, he stated that he wants to work together with both countries so that “even after a thousand years,” a solution to Kashmir can be found.

It is noteworthy that, from India’s perspective, the Kashmir issue has always been bilateral between India and Pakistan. On the other hand, this issue arose after Pakistan came into existence in 1947, which Trump refers to as thousands of years old. The American President first announced the agreement to halt military actions between India and Pakistan through this same social media yesterday. Today, he made another statement regarding it.

He wrote that I am very proud of the strong and unwaveringly powerful leadership of India and Pakistan for having the strength, wisdom, and fortitude to fully know and understand that it was time to stop the current aggression that could have lead to to the death and destruction of so many, and so much,

While not even discussed, I am going to increase trade, substantially, with both of these great Nations, Trump added. Additionally, I will work with you both to see if, after a thousand years, a solution can be arrived at concerning Kashmir. God Bless the leadership of India and Pakistan on a job well done!!!

Regarding the Kashmir issue, he openly indicated for the first time that America could play an active role in it. He expressed interest in seeing if a solution to this longstanding dispute is possible.
