Sitamarhi, May 10 (HS): Maa Sita, revered as the world’s mother, holds a special place in the hearts of the people of Sitamarhi and the Mithila region. Acharya Mithileshanandini Sharan Ji Maharaj, the chief speaker at the recently held Sita Mahotsav at Sita Prakashgriha, highlighted her nurturing spirit and exemplary character. He elaborated on various forms of Mata Janaki found in religious texts, asserting that while there are four sacred shrines, Mithila is uniquely blessed to provide access to all. He praised Mata Janaki’s character, which is celebrated across scriptures, particularly in Valmiki’s Ramayana, where her extraordinary virtues are vividly depicted.
Acharya Mithileshanandini emphasized that outside Mithila she is known as Mata Sita, but within, she is regarded as the cherished daughter. He also discussed her childhood virtues of compassion, virtue, and forgiveness and stated that she was born from the earth (Bhumi-ja) for humanity’s welfare, enduring hardships to preserve her husband’s glory. He underlined that Mata Sita embodies the ideal roles of a daughter, wife, and mother.
The event also featured remarks from Shri Mahant Dr. Shukadev Das Ji Maharaj, who spoke on her sacrifices and forgiveness, while Shri Mahant Kaushal Kishore Das Ji Maharaj commended Hindustan Samachar for organizing this auspicious celebration.
