ISSF Shotgun World Cup 2025: Kynan Chenai and Sabira Harris Win Bronze in Trap Mixed Team Event

Kynan Chenai and Sabeera Haris clinched a bronze medal for India .

New Delhi, May 12 (HS): Olympian Kynan Chenai and 18-year-old Sabeera Harris teamed up to win the bronze medal in the Trap Mixed Team Event at the ISSF Shotgun World Cup 2025 held in Nicosia, Cyprus, bringing pride to India.

In the bronze medal match, the Indian duo defeated the Turkish team—Tolga Tuncer and Pelin Kaya—by a narrow margin of 34-33. Earlier, in the qualification round, India scored 142 points and advanced to the bronze medal match by defeating the Chinese Taipei team (Wan-Yu Liu and Kun-Pi Yang) 4-2 in a shoot-off.

18-year-old Sabeera Harris delivered an impressive performance in the qualification, hitting 72 out of 75 shots, while the 34-year-old veteran Kinnan Chennai completed 70 shots. Sabira has previously won medals in the mixed trap event at the Junior World Championship alongside Shardul Vihan.

Interestingly, the Turkish team also missed the opportunity to compete for the gold medal. They lost to the Chinese duo Zhang Zixi and Qui Ying 1-2 in a shoot-off, finishing in second place, while the Polish team secured first place with a score of 146 points.

India’s second team, consisting of Shardul Vihan (72) and Kirti Gupta (65), scored a total of 137 points and finished in 17th place out of 34 teams.
