Delhi CM assures fulfillment of promises made for welfare of journalists in BJP manifesto

On Monday, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta meets with a delegation of journalists led by the National Union of Journalists India (NUJI) and the Delhi Journalists Association (DJA) at the Chief Minister's office located in the Delhi Assembly.

New Delhi, May 12 (H.S.): On Monday, a delegation of journalists met with Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, led by Ras Bihari, President of the National Union of Journalists (India) (NUJ-I), and Rakesh Thapliyal, President of the Delhi Journalists Association (DJA). The delegation informed the Chief Minister about various issues faced by journalists in Delhi at the Chief Minister’s office located in the Delhi Assembly. The Chief Minister assured that these issues would be addressed on a priority basis. NUJ-I President Ras Bihari told the Chief Minister that all journalists working in Delhi (both accredited and non-accredited) should be provided with free medical facilities and pension benefits in line with the neighboring states of Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.

Additionally, there was also discussion regarding the reconstitution of the Delhi government’s Accreditation Committee. The issues faced by women journalists were also discussed. The Chief Minister assured that the announcements made in the Bharatiya Janata Party’s manifesto would be implemented soon on a priority basis.

The delegation included NUJ Secretary Amlesh Raju, DJA General Secretary Pramod Kumar Singh, NUJ Women’s Wing Coordinator Pratibha Shukla, DJA Vice President Anita Chaudhary, NUJ Election Commission Chairman Dadhibal Yadav, Editor Mukesh Vats of Public Asia, and NUJ Executive Members Usha Pahwa and Pradeep Srivastava.
