New Delhi, May 13 (H.S.): Ayurveda Day will now be celebrated annually on September 23, as notified by the central government. Previously, this day coincided with Dhanteras, which varies each year, leading to inconsistencies in observance. The AYUSH Ministry announced the fixed date to enhance global visibility and ensure continuity. A notification was published in the Gazette on March 27, 2025. A committee was established to address the lack of a stable date, and after considering four options, September 23 was chosen. This day aims to promote Ayurveda as a scientific and evidence-based holistic medical system, highlighting its importance in preventive health care and overall wellness.
