
New Delhi, May 13 (HS): The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced Class 12 results on Tuesday, revealing an overall pass rate of 88.39%. This reflects a 0.41% increase from last year, where 87.98% passed. Girls outperformed boys, achieving a pass rate of 91.64% compared to 85.70% for boys, with a difference of 5.94%. Out of 1,704,367 registered students, 1,692,794 appeared for the exam, and 1,496,307 were successful. Additionally, transgender candidates saw significant improvement, with a 100% pass rate this year compared to 50% last year. Over 110,000 students scored above 90%, with 111,544 achieving over 90% and 24,867 exceeding 95%. However, 129,095 students will need to retake exams, marking a slight increase from 122,170 in 2024.
Notably, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya led institutional results with a 99.29% pass rate, followed by Kendriya Vidyalaya at 99.05% and Central Tibetan Schools at 98.96%. Regionally, Vijayawada topped with 99.60%, Thiruvananthapuram followed at 99.32%, and Chennai at 97.39%. Students can access results through cbse.gov.in and the Digi Locker app, which will provide digital mark sheets and certificates along with easy login credentials sent via SMS.
