Ratnagiri, 15 May (HS): The railway timetable for the Konkan region during the monsoon season will be applicable from June 15. During
the season speed of the trains is reduced, and frequency of six express trains
is reduced.
The timetable is changed in the region during
monsoon to avoid untoward incidents, including landslides and other natural
calamities. The authorities are also required to take additional care of the
railway tracks to ensure the safety of the passengers. The speed of trains between Roha
and Thokur stations will be 75 kmph, instead of the usual 120 kmph. Following heavy
rains the speed is reduced to 40 kmph.
