Champhai (Mizoram), 16 May (HS): Assam Rifles have recovered 2.5 kgs of heroin from Kelkang area of Champhai district of Mizoram in a joint operation with representatives of the Customs Preventive Force Department, Champhai. However, no one was arrested during this operation.

An Assam Rifles spokesperson said on Friday that the estimated price of the recovered drugs in the international market is about ₹17.54 crore. The seized heroin has been handed over to the Customs Preventive Force Department, Champhai for further legal action.

Officials have described it as a major success against drug smuggling.
