
Hissar, May 18 (H.S.): The investigation into Jyoti Malhotra, a YouTuber from Hissar, has revealed concerning details surrounding her activities suspected to be linked to espionage for a Pakistani intelligence agency. Jyoti, who traveled to Pakistan, enjoyed unrestricted access and VIP treatment during her stay. Following her return from Pakistan, she subsequently visited China, raising alarms among Indian security agencies. On Saturday night, her residence was searched, and she is currently in police custody for interrogation.
Generally, Indian travelers to Pakistan face restrictions; however, Jyoti’s case appears different. She was noted participating in prominent parties in Pakistan, where she reportedly interacted with senior officials of the Pakistani intelligence community. Interestingly, her trips have included not only Pakistan but also Kashmir and international destinations such as Bali and Nepal, raising concerns regarding her true motivations. The police suspect that her YouTube activities served as a cover for gathering intelligence for Pakistan.
Evidence indicates she attended an Iftar party at the Pakistani embassy in March 2024, where she seemed to know the officials well, particularly one named Danish. During this event, she gained introductions to several officials and even met Chinese representatives, all while promoting the embassy’s arrangements on her channel.
In 2024, following her 12-day trip to Pakistan in April, she traveled to China in June, where she enjoyed luxurious treatment, further attracting the scrutiny of Indian security agencies. An Emirates flight photo she shared on social media highlights her lavish travels. Currently, Jyoti has been presented in court and is under a five-day police remand, where the police are investigating potential contacts in her hometown and further details concerning her activities.
