Quetta, May 19 (HS): A tragic car bomb explosion occurred in Killa Abdullah, Balochistan, Pakistan, resulting in at least four fatalities and 20 injuries. The blast took place near Jabbar Market, close to the FC Fort’s rear wall.
Deputy Commissioner Riaz Khan confirmed the death toll and reported that the injured individuals were promptly transferred to various hospitals for medical assistance. The explosion significantly damaged multiple vehicles and local shops. Initial investigations suggest that the attackers aimed to strike the FC Fort wall. Following the explosion, gunfire erupted in the vicinity.
No members of the Frontier Corps (FC) or security forces were reported harmed. Due to limited healthcare facilities in the area, some injured individuals were sent to Quetta for treatment. Among the injured was tribal leader Haji Faizullah Khan Gabizai, his security guard, and a passerby. Law enforcement agencies have since secured the area and launched search and evacuation operations. Separately, an attack utilizing grenades targeted the FC Killa Gulistan post, leading to an exchange of fire that resulted in two militant deaths.
Officials have assured that the situation in Killa Gulistan is under control, with heightened vigilance in place to avert further incidents following the rise in terrorism since the Taliban’s return to power in Afghanistan in 2021.
