Islamabad, May 20 (HS): Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with Qatari Ambassador Ali Mubarak Ali Essa Al-Khater in Islamabad, discussing bilateral relations and mutual interests. Naqvi emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to peace and regional stability, touting the success of his recent visit to Qatar. He reported that his talks with Qatar’s Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister, and Interior Minister led to agreements on enhancing bilateral cooperation, particularly in security and training programs, as well as in combating drugs and terrorism. Strengthening ties with Qatar across all sectors is a priority for Pakistan.
Notably, Qatar responded cautiously to the recent Operation Sindoor in retaliation for a Pakistan-sponsored attack in Kashmir, urging restraint from both sides. Qatar’s diplomatic balance has been evident in various global mediations, maintaining amicable relations with both India and Pakistan, while being a key player in international negotiations held in Doha.
