Market cap rises by ₹1 lakh crore for 9 companies

New Delhi, June 8 (H.S): During the last week, trading in the domestic stock market led to a rise in market capitalization by over ₹1 lakh crore for 9 out of the top 10 most valued companies. Reliance Industries and HDFC Bank benefited the most, with Reliance’s market cap increasing by ₹30,786.38 crore to ₹19,53,480.09 crore and HDFC Bank’s rising by ₹26,668.23 crore to ₹15,15,853.85 crore. Other companies experiencing gains included Bajaj Finance (+₹12,322.96 crore), ICICI Bank (+₹9,790.87 crore), Hindustan Unilever (+₹9,280.89 crore), Bharti Airtel (+₹7,127.63 crore), LIC (+₹3,953.12 crore), Infosys (+₹519.27 crore), and SBI (+₹401.61 crore). Conversely, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) saw a decline of ₹28,518.53 crore, bringing its market cap to ₹12,24,975.89 crore.

Overall, the most valuable companies ranked by market cap were Reliance Industries, HDFC Bank, TCS, Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank, SBI, Infosys, LIC, Bajaj Finance, and Hindustan Unilever. The trading activity reflected a strong performance for most top companies amidst a significant drop for TCS.
