Washington , 22 June (H.S.): US B-2 Spirit bombers executed a continuous 37-hour mission from Missouri, targeting Iran’s nuclear program with President Donald Trump calling it a very successful attack. The B-2s, refueled multiple times in-flight, struck three sites: Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan. Trump stated, Fordow is gone, emphasizing the destruction of Iran’s most protected nuclear facility. He hailed the operation as an amazing success while warning Iran to make peace immediately or they’ll get hit again.

The attacks involved six bunker-buster bombs at Fordow and around 30 Tomahawk missiles on other facilities, marking significant US military action against Iran recently. The Pentagon confirmed the use of B-2 bombers for the operation, which occurred amid escalating tensions between Israel and Iran. Prior to the strikes, B-2 bombers were repositioned to Guam, allowing the deployment of the GBU-57 Massive Ordnance Penetrator to target deeply buried sites.

An Iranian official acknowledged damage to Fordow from the strikes. This US intervention followed Israeli operations against Iranian nuclear sites, with experts noting Israel’s inability to penetrate Fordow alone. Trump’s escalation included coordination with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The conflict has resulted in significant casualties, with over 400 deaths in Iran and at least 14 in Israel, marking a significant increase in hostilities between the two nations.
