Barbados, June 23(HS): The West Indies leveled the T20 series 1-1 by defeating South Africa by six wickets. Captain Hayley Matthews scored an unbeaten 63, while bowlers Afy Fletcher and Karishma Ramharack were instrumental in restricting South Africa to 113 runs. After losing the toss and batting first, South Africa had a decent start with a 30-run partnership between captain Laura Wolvaardt and Tazmin Brits, but wickets fell quickly after.

Fletcher dismissed both Brits and Nadine de Klerk, while Ramharack claimed two crucial wickets. Anerie Dercksen contributed 21* in the final overs to help reach 113. In response, the West Indies had a solid start, but a few quick wickets fell after Kiana Joseph’s early contributions. However, Matthews steadied the innings, hitting a six and a four in the closing overs. Janilia Glasgow scored the winning runs as the West Indies finished at 116/4, clinching the match and setting up a deciding contest on Monday.
