Tehran (Iran)/Tel Aviv (Israel), June 24(HS): Following a ceasefire announcement by U.S. President Donald Trump, Iran confirmed its ceasefire with Israel after a missile attack that resulted in at least four fatalities. While Trump did not elaborate on the details, Iranian state television reported the ceasefire agreement shortly after his statement. The announcement came on the twelfth day of missile exchanges between the two nations, coinciding with U.S. bombings of Iranian nuclear sites.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi declared that the agreement was effective, stating the military had engaged until the last moment. On the same day, Israel reported multiple missile launches from Iran, resulting in casualties. The ceasefire developed after Iran’s attack on Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, the largest U.S. military hub in the region, where approximately 10,000 American personnel are stationed.

US Vice President J.D. Vance asserted the end of hostilities and a chance to revive the peace process. Trump declared a total agreement between Israel and Iran for a comprehensive ceasefire via social media. Meanwhile, anonymous diplomats indicated that Qatari officials played a role in persuading Iran to accept the U.S. proposal, noting that Israel was also in agreement.
