Nirmala Sitharaman to lay Foundation Stone for IICA North-East Campus in Shillong on July 11-12

Delhi, 10 July (H.S.): The Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA), under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India, will host the IICA North-East Conclave 2025 on 11–12 July 2025 at IIM Shillong Campus, themed “From Ideation to Incorporation.” The two-day event aims to boost the startup and entrepreneurial ecosystem in the North-East. The inaugural ceremony will start at 09:30 AM, featuring Nirmala Sitharaman, Union Minister of Finance & Corporate Affairs, and Conrad K. Sangma, Chief Minister of Meghalaya, along with senior officials from leading institutions.

The Conclave will focus on innovation and enterprise development through policy discussions, partnerships, and access to funding. Sessions will cover topics such as startup incorporation, incubation models, funding opportunities, policy frameworks for startups, entrepreneurship as a skilling strategy, and interactions with startup founders and investors. Special emphasis will be placed on women-led startups and regional MSMEs.

A significant highlight will be the Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony for the IICA North-East Regional Campus in Shillong, enhancing policy education and entrepreneurial support in the region. The IICA will also sign seven strategic MoUs with key institutions, including Meghalaya Administrative Training Institute, IIM Shillong, and various professional institutes, to institutionalize regional collaboration for capacity building and knowledge exchange.

The Indian Institute of Management, Shillong, serves as the Knowledge Partner for this event. Other Program Partners include organizations like the Government of Meghalaya, SBI, PNB, SIDBI, NEC, STPI, BSE, and NSE. A Startup Exhibition will showcase 39 startups and financial institutions from the North-East, facilitating connections between regional innovators and investors. The IICA North-East Conclave 2025 aims to unlock the entrepreneurial potential of the region through knowledge sharing and partnerships.
