
Delhi, 11 July (H.S.): Czech Republic’s Katerina Siniakova and Netherland’ s Verbeek clinched the mixed doubles title at Wimbledon 2025, defeating Britain’s Joe Salisbury and Brazil’s Luisa Stefani in straight sets, 7-6(3), 7-6(3). The match, held on Center Court, showcased the Czech-Dutch duo’s patience and confidence, though Stefani struggled with foot issues that hindered her mobility.
Siniakova secured the final point with an overhead smash, leading to celebrations for their first title win together. This marks Siniakova’s inaugural mixed doubles Grand Slam title, while Verbeek, at 31, triumphs in his first Grand Slam. Post-match, Siniakova expressed her joy, stating, “This is very special. It was a wonderful experience,” while Verbeek emotionally praised her as one of the best doubles players, saying, “You made this Thursday the most memorable day of my life.”
Salisbury acknowledged their defeat but commended their opponents’ play. With this victory, Siniakova and Verbik etched their names in Wimbledon history.
