Jannik Sinner defeats Alcaraz ,wins first Wimbledon title

Italian Jannik Sinner became the Wimbledon champion.

London, July 14 (HS): Jannik Sinner delivered a remarkable performance in the Wimbledon final, defeating two-time champion Carlos Alcaraz with scores of 4-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 to claim his first Wimbledon title, marking his fourth Grand Slam title overall. Sinner avenged his recent French Open loss to Alcaraz and ended the Spaniard’s unbeaten streak in Grand Slam finals.

Despite losing the first set, Sinner rallied to win the next three sets, all by 6-4. The victory also halted Alcaraz’s impressive 20-match winning streak and ended his 24-match unbeaten run on Centre Court.

After the match, the 23-year-old Sinner expressed his joy, stating, “Winning Wimbledon is a dream for every player, and today that dream came true,” while reflecting on the significance of the moment.
