Australia wins fourth T20 against West Indies, securing 4-0 series lead

Basseterre, July 27 (H.S.): The Australian team’s winning streak against the West Indies continues, as they claimed victory in the fourth T20 match by three wickets, securing a 4-0 lead in the five-match series. In the match held in Basseterre, the West Indies batted first after losing the toss, scoring 205 runs for nine wickets in 20 overs. Australia, in response, achieved the target with 206 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 19.2 overs.

Australia faced an early loss with captain Mitchell Marsh dismissed in the first over without scoring. However, Josh Inglis and Glenn Maxwell accelerated the innings, with Maxwell hitting 47 runs off 18 balls and Inglis contributing 51 runs off 30 balls. After their dismissal, Cameron Green led the chase, finishing with an unbeaten 55 runs from 35 balls, supported by Aaron Hardy’s 23 runs off 16 balls.

For the West Indies, Zaidah Blades took three wickets, while Jason Holder, Romario Shepherd, and Akil Hossain claimed one wicket each. The West Indies began their innings briskly but lost wickets consistently, with key contributions from Rovman Powell (28 runs) and others, leaving them at 205 runs. For Australia, Adam Zampa took three wickets, with Aaron Hardy, Javier Bartlett, and Sean Abbott each taking two wickets. Thus, Australia remains undefeated on this tour, having won all preceding matches.
