Foz do Iguaçu (Brazil), August 4(HS): India’s top-seeded mixed doubles pair, Manush Shah and Diya Chitale, lost in the WTT Star Contender final in Brazil to Japan’s Satoshi Aida and Honoka Hashimoto, with a score of 2-3 on Sunday. This marked their second final appearance this season after winning in Tunis.

Manush also reached the men’s doubles final with Manav Thakkar but fell to Germany’s Benedict Duda and Dang Qiu, 2-3. In women’s singles, Manika Batra exited the tournament after a 0-3 loss to Hashimoto in the quarterfinals, despite initially defeating South Korea’s Kim Nayoung 3-2 to reach the last eight.
