New Delhi, Sept 5 (HS):

The domestic bullion market witnessed a soft trend on Thursday as gold and silver prices declined sharply. Gold prices fell by ₹900 to ₹940 per 10 grams, while silver lost as much as ₹1,400 per kilogram in early trade.

Following the correction, 24-carat gold was trading between ₹1,05,920 and ₹1,06,070 per 10 grams across major bullion markets, while 22-carat gold was quoted in the range of ₹97,050 to ₹97,200 per 10 grams. Silver prices slipped to ₹1,25,600 per kilogram in Delhi’s bullion market.

City-wise Prices (24 Carat / 22 Carat)

Delhi: ₹1,06,070 / ₹97,200 (per 10 gm)

Mumbai: ₹1,05,920 / ₹97,050 (per 10 gm)

Ahmedabad: ₹1,05,970 / ₹97,100 (per 10 gm)

Chennai: ₹1,05,920 / ₹97,050 (per 10 gm)

Kolkata: ₹1,05,920 / ₹97,050 (per 10 gm)

In southern and eastern markets too, prices softened. In Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Bhubaneswar, 24-carat gold was quoted at ₹1,05,920 per 10 grams, while 22-carat stood at ₹97,050 per 10 grams.

Context: Analysts suggest the fall in domestic bullion prices is in line with global cues, as international gold futures eased on expectations of steady interest rates and profit-booking ahead of U.S. economic data releases.
