New Delhi, 5 September(HS): In a decisive move to bolster flood relief efforts in Punjab and Himachal Pradesh, Union Minister for Youth Affairs & Sports and Labour & Employment, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, convened a high-level meeting today at the MY Bharat Headquarters. The session culminated in the decision to deploy more than 1,000 NDMA-trained ‘MY Bharat Aapda Mitras’ to undertake vital relief and rescue operations across the severely affected regions.
Emphasizing the critical role of youth in disaster response, Dr. Mandaviya highlighted that these dedicated volunteers will work tirelessly to ensure that essential supplies and services reach remote villages rendered nearly inaccessible by the devastating floods. Describing the mobilization as a testament to MY Bharat’s capacity to engage youth extensively in nation building, the Minister underscored the platform’s pivotal contribution to fostering a culture of community service and resilience.
Furthermore, Dr. Mandaviya mandated MY Bharat volunteers, in collaboration with District Youth Officers, to maintain close coordination with District Magistrates, thereby guaranteeing prompt and efficient relief delivery to impacted populations.
MY Bharat, inaugurated in 2023, stands as a pioneering nationwide phygital platform committed to connecting, mobilizing, and empowering the youth through avenues of volunteering, experiential learning, and leadership. With over 17 million registered young citizens, the platform continues to galvanize youth participation in national endeavors such as road safety, voter awareness, and environmental sustainability, reinforcing its stature as a cornerstone of contemporary nation building.
