

Kathmandu, September 10 (HS): Amid the ongoing unrest and violent protests, the Nepal Army on Wednesday announced the arrest of 27 individuals accused of participating in looting, arson, and other destructive acts across the country. The arrests were made between 10 p.m. Tuesday and 10 a.m. Wednesday in Kathmandu and other affected regions.
According to The Himalayan Post, the security forces deployed three fire engines to control blazes triggered during the demonstrations. In Kathmandu’s Gaushala–Chabahil–Boudha area, security personnel recovered looted cash amounting to 3.37 million rupees along with a significant cache of weapons.
The army confirmed the seizure of 31 firearms, loaded magazines, and assorted ammunition from 23 locations in Kathmandu and 8 in Pokhara. Officials highlighted that the recovery underscored organized violent attempts during the protests.
Meanwhile, clashes left 23 police personnel and three civilians injured, all of whom are currently under treatment at military hospitals. The army reiterated its commitment to curbing violence and safeguarding lives and properties, assuring that security forces remained actively deployed across the country.
