Washington, D.C., September 14(HS): Conservative activist Charlie Kirk, a close ally of US President Donald Trump, was assassinated on September 10 during an outdoor event at Utah Valley University. Kirk was fatally shot in the neck while addressing a crowd at the campus in Orem, Utah, ending a life that had been tragically predicted to be at risk months earlier by a top security expert.
Kris Herzog, owner of The Bodyguard Group of Beverly Hills, revealed that he had met Kirk on March 6 at California State University and warned him of a 100% chance he would be killed if appropriate safety measures were not implemented. Herzog urged Kirk to adopt stringent security protocols, including bulletproof glass panels and extensive metal detector screening within a 700-meter radius of his speaking venues to thwart potential sniper attacks.
Despite heeding some initial advice, Kirk did not maintain contact with Herzog or significantly upgrade his security detail. Herzog lamented to the media that his grim prediction had come true, emphasizing that Kirk was in grave danger due to inadequate protection at his events.
Authorities apprehended the primary suspect, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, just 33 hours after the shooting, after a family member reported Robinson’s confession or implication of involvement. Investigators believe Robinson acted alone, utilizing a high-powered rifle from a rooftop vantage point to execute the attack. Law enforcement recovered the weapon and forensic evidence linking Robinson to the scene.

President Trump expressed grief and admiration for Kirk, who was known for inspiring a significant youth following, describing him as like a son.
