Moscow, September 19(HS):

The Kremlin on Thursday confirmed the resignation of Dmitry Kozak, one of President Vladimir Putin’s most senior aides, marking the departure of a key figure from Russia’s presidential administration.

Kozak, who served as deputy chief of staff, tendered his resignation voluntarily, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters, without elaborating on the reasons behind the decision or his future plans.

Russian media outlet RBC had earlier reported that Kozak submitted a formal resignation letter and was weighing prospects outside government service, including potential moves into the business sector.

Kozak, long regarded as a trusted member of Putin’s circle, played an influential role in domestic policy management and in navigating sensitive regional issues during his tenure. His departure comes at a time when the Kremlin is grappling with complex political and economic challenges at home and abroad.
