
Mumbai, October 2 (H.S.) : Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, engaged in discussions with Airbus Chairman René Obermann on expanding opportunities in India’s aviation sector and strengthening collaboration with the global aerospace company.
On Thursday, Minister Goyal welcomed the Airbus Board led by Chairman Obermann to India. During the meeting, there was an attractive discussion about the vast prospects in India and the growing partnerships between Airbus and the Indian aviation industry.
Goyal encouraged Airbus to deepen its collaboration and increase investments in India, highlighting the country’s aerospace strength and potential that continue to attract global interest.This dialogue is viewed as a significant step toward bolstering India’s aviation industry and enhancing its position as a hub for aerospace innovation and manufacturing.
Last year, Air India placed an order for 100 more Airbus aircraft, including 10 wide-body A350s and 90 narrow-body A320 family aircraft, among which the A321neo is included. In 2023, IndiGo’s board placed an order for 500 Airbus A320 family aircraft, marking its largest order ever.These developments underscore the growing aviation demand and confidence in India’s aerospace sector.
