
New Delhi, October 10(HS): Low-cost carrier SpiceJet has announced a significant expansion of its operations with the addition of three new aircraft to its fleet, including one Airbus A340 wide-body and two Boeing 737 planes. The move aims to meet the surging demand for air travel during the upcoming holiday season.
In a post on X on Friday, the airline confirmed that the three aircraft have already arrived and will be inducted into service between October 10 and 11. SpiceJet further revealed that a total of 20 aircraft are slated to join its operational fleet by November under a damp lease arrangement, though details regarding the lease duration were not disclosed.SpiceJet also stated that by mid-December, it plans to deploy an additional four aircraft, further boosting its overall capacity.
According to the airline, this expansion will enhance connectivity between major Indian cities and cater to the growing number of travelers during the winter and festive periods.“We are gaining momentum,” the airline said in its statement. “
