23 Feb (HS): An Ex-Servicemen (ESM) rally was organized at AMC Stadium, AMC Centre
& College, Lucknow Cantt. A large number of veterans, veer naaris, Veer
Maatas and family members of ex-servicemen attended the rally. Hon’ble Deputy
Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Brajesh Pathak, inaugurated the rally in
the presence of Lieutenant General Anindya Sengupta, General Officer
Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C), Central Command. The rally served as an
opportunity for veterans and their families to connect with relevant
authorities and resolve any grievances or issues.
The
rally provided a platform to assist Veterans, Veer Naris, and Veer Matas by
disseminating essential post-retirement benefits information, addressing
grievances, and facilitating the resolution of documentation anomalies. This
was made possible through coordination with Record Offices, Principal
Controller of Defence Accounts (Pensions), Prayagraj, state government
agencies, and leading national banks.
The
event aimed to reaffirm the unwavering bond between the Armed Forces and its
Veterans while ensuring they continue to receive the support and recognition
they deserve. It served as a heartfelt tribute to the immense sacrifices and
contributions of Veer Naris, Veer Matas, and Veterans towards the nation and
the Armed Forces. The large turnout of attendees also provided the Army an
opportunity to guide and educate Veer Naris and their Next of Kin (NOK) on
addressing everyday challenges while reinforcing the strong image of the Indian
Army within the local community.
Addressing
the gathering, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister Shri Brajesh Pathak expressed deep
gratitude to the Veterans and their families for their selfless service to the
nation.
GOC-in-C
Surya Command, Lt General Anindya Sengupta hailed the contribution of veterans
to the nation. Army Commander also acknowledged the contribution of the Armed
Forces families in supporting our men and women in uniform.
