Air India Announces Winter Schedule Expansion with 174 New Weekly Flights

Delhi, 15 October (H.S.): Tata-owned Air India has announced a major network expansion for its upcoming northern winter schedule, introducing 174 new weekly flights across major domestic and short-haul international routes starting October 26. These flights, operated by the airline’s single-aisle fleet, are set to significantly enhance connectivity between key Indian cities and popular destinations in Southeast Asia.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the airline confirmed that the new services will improve travel options and frequency for passengers. International connectivity will be bolstered with increased flights from Delhi to Kuala Lumpur and Denpasar (Bali).

International Route Enhancements

Delhi-Kuala Lumpur: Flight frequency will increase from 7 to 10 per week, effective November 15.

Delhi-Denpasar (Bali): Service will expand from 7 to 10 flights per week, starting December 1.

Expanded Services to Rajasthan

Effective October 26, connectivity to Rajasthan will be significantly improved with the following additions and frequency increases:

Delhi-Jaipur: A new route with 3 daily flights.

Delhi-Jaisalmer: A new route with 2 daily flights.

Delhi-Udaipur: Increased from 2 to 3 daily flights.Mumbai-Jaipur: Increased from 3 to 4 daily flights.Mumbai-Udaipur: Increased from 3 to 4 daily flights.Mumbai-Jodhpur: Doubled from 1 to 2 daily flights.

Increased Flights for Madhya Pradesh & Gujarat

Delhi-Indore: Increased from 3 to 4 daily flights.Delhi-Bhopal: Increased from 2 to 3 daily flights.Mumbai-Indore: Doubled from 1 to 2 daily flights.Mumbai-Bhuj: Doubled from 1 to 2 daily flights.Delhi-Rajkot: Doubled from 1 to 2 daily Flights.

Other Domestic Route Expansions

From Delhi: Daily flights to Varanasi and Raipur will increase from 2 to 3, while services to Port Blair, Aurangabad, Guwahati, and Nagpur will double from 1 to 2.

From Mumbai: Daily services to Dehradun, Patna, and Amritsar will be increased from 1 to 2.

Air India also noted the completion of a large-scale refurbishment of its legacy Airbus A320neo aircraft. Twenty-six of the 27 planes now feature new interiors with a three-class configuration, including Business, Premium Economy, and Economy. With a fleet of over 100 A320-family aircraft, the airline aims to provide an improved and more comfortable experience for passengers on over 80 domestic and short-haul international routes.
