
WASHINGTON, 17 October (H.S.): President Donald Trump on Thursday expressed significant reservations about supplying Tomahawk cruise missiles to Ukraine, citing concerns that such a move would deplete the United States’ own military inventory.
His comments came just a day before a scheduled meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Washington to discuss military aid.President Trump informed reporters that the U.S. could not afford to deplete its stock of the sophisticated weaponry.
He also revealed that he had discussed the matter in a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin, stating that his Russian counterpart didn’t like the idea of the U.S. providing Tomahawks to Kyiv.
