This achievement is not only a matter of pride for Maharashtra but also reflects the strong presence of the state at the national level.
Anika Dubey: Pune’s ‘Golden Girl’
At just 14 years of age, Anika Dubey has become the youngest player to represent India in this prestigious tournament. Anika, who has won three national titles, is Maharashtra’s most successful junior squash player. Expressing her happiness, she said, This is like a dream come true for me. I have worked hard and am now excited to play on such a big stage.
Akanksha Gupta: Story of great performance
Along with Anika, Akanksha Gupta has also joined the Indian team. Akanksha’s journey from winning the national title in 2019 at the age of just 10 is a testament to her commitment and outstanding performance. It is a matter of pride to represent India. I am grateful for the support and training I received to reach this point, she said.
