Fire Damages Historic Pub Used for Harry Potter Series Filming

LUSTLEIGH, ENGLAND, 20 October (H.S.): A fire broke out early Sunday morning at the Cleave Inn, a historic pub in the village of Lustleigh, Devon, which had recently been closed for filming believed to be for the new Harry Potter television series.

The blaze caused significant damage to a storeroom, forcing the establishment to temporarily close .The Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service was alerted to the fire just after 2 a.m. on Sunday.

A total of eight fire engines, an aerial ladder platform, and a water bowser were dispatched to tackle the blaze .In a social media post, the pub’s owner, Luke Smith, confirmed the incident and announced a temporary closure for a few days to clean up and re-stock.

He added, The pub means a lot to the village, and the village means a lot to us, so we’ll do everything we can to get these doors back open to our loyal customers.The fire service reported that the storeroom was severely damaged, and an investigation into the cause is now underway. The pub had been shut on Wednesday and Thursday for production activities.
