Driver in Custody After Vehicle Breaches White House Security Barrier

WASHINGTON, 22 October (H.S.): A man was apprehended on Tuesday night after he drove his vehicle into a security barrier on the outer perimeter of the White House complex, prompting a swift response from law enforcement. The United States Secret Service confirmed that the driver was immediately taken into custody.

The incident occurred at approximately 10:37 PM at a security gate located at the intersection of 17th and E Streets Southwest.

According to an official statement, officers from the Secret Service Uniformed Division arrested the individual at the scene.Following the arrest, the vehicle was thoroughly inspected by the Secret Service and the Metropolitan Police Department.

Authorities later declared the vehicle safe, and the security of the White House was not compromised. The investigation into the motive behind the incident is ongoing, and authorities have not yet released the identity of the driver. The Secret Service has stated that more information will be shared as the investigation continues.
