
Chennai, 24 February (H.S.): Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa was remembered on her 77th birth anniversary today, with leaders across the state paying tributes to her legacy. AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami led the celebrations at the party headquarters, describing Jayalalithaa as a noble leader who lives in the hearts of Tamils.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also honored her legacy, highlighting her contributions to Tamil Nadu’s development. Remembering Jayalalithaa Ji on her birth anniversary. She is widely admired as a compassionate leader and outstanding administrator who devoted her life for Tamil Nadu’s development, Modi tweeted.
Various events were organized across the state to commemorate the occasion, including cake-cutting ceremonies, distribution of welfare aids, and blood donation camps. Actor Rajinikanth paid floral tribute to Jayalalithaa at her residence at Poes Garden, Chennai.
Jayalalithaa’s niece, Deepa Madhavan, emphasized the need for unity within the AIADMK, stating that AIADMK should unite for it to return to power ¹. Other leaders, including former Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam and AMMK Chief TTV Dhinakaran, also paid tributes to Jayalalithaa’s perseverance and contributions to social welfare.
