– Jhumuir Binandini: Assam witnesses a historic moment, PM Modi is overwhelmed by the grand event

Guwahati, 24 February (HS): PM Narendra Modi has said that only a Chaywala can understand the real taste of tea. The PM was addressing the Jhumuir Binandini program organized at Sarusajai Stadium in Guwahati.

Monday became a historic day for the people of Assam when PM Narendra Modi attended the grand event of ‘Jhumuir Binandini’. This program was organized at Sarusajai in Assam, where PM Modi addressed the gathering.

PM Modi started his address in the Assamese and Baganiya language and said, Tea has fragrance and beauty too. A Chaywala can feel this better than anyone else. He further said, The entire stadium has become Jhumuir-filled. The melody and enthusiasm of Jhumuir is visible all around. The relationship you have with the tea garden is the same as mine.

Prime Minister Modi congratulated the Assam government and Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma for such a huge event. He recalled that when he came to Assam in 2023, 11,000 dancers performed Bihu dance. Describing Jhumuir Binandini as a symbol of Assam’s rich cultural heritage, he called it a historic moment.
