London, 29 October (H.S.): A man has been arrested following a deadly stabbing rampage in the west London suburb of Uxbridge on Tuesday that resulted in one fatality and left two others wounded. Authorities have ruled out a terrorist motive for what they termed a shocking and senseless act of violence.
Emergency services were called to the scene where a 49-year-old man was pronounced dead. A second man, aged 45, sustained severe injuries, while a 14-year-old boy was treated for non-life-threatening wounds.Police have launched an investigation to determine if any connection existed between the suspect and the victims.
The Home Office confirmed that the arrested individual is an Afghan national who has been a legal resident in Britain since 2022, after arriving in the country in a truck in 2020 and being granted asylum. Officials also clarified that, contrary to claims on social media, the suspect was not living in government-provided accommodation, such as a hotel.
The incident occurs amid heightened anti-immigrant tensions in Britain, which have recently seen protests and riots targeting hotels used to house asylum seekers.
