
New Delhi, February 25 (HS): Andrey Rublev won his second Qatar Open title by defeating Britain’s Jack Draper 7-5, 5-7, 6-1 in the final of the Qatar Open played in Doha. Rublev rose from 10th to 9th place in the newly published ATP rankings after winning last week the 2025 Qatar Open tennis tournament in Doha.
However, despite losing in the final, 23-year-old Draper jumped four places in the ATP rankings to achieve his career-best 12th ranking.
Czech’s Jiri Lehecka, who defeated world number 3 Carlos Alcaraz in the quarter-finals, has moved up three places to 22nd.
Meanwhile, Argentina’s Sebastian Baez successfully defended the Rio Open and remains at 31st place. His compatriots Camillo Ugo Carabelli and Francisco Comesaña, who lost in the semi-finals, also achieved career-best rankings in the long jump at 69th and 67th respectively.
