Amjid Pathan laid to rest with full State Honours in Poonch





Jammu, Dec 16 (KINS): The last rites of Amjid Pathan, who lost his life during the Udhampur encounter, were performed with full state honours at his native village Pathanateer in the Mendhar area of Poonch district on Tuesday.

The village wore a sombre look as thousands of people gathered to pay their final respects to the brave martyr.

Family members, relatives, local residents and fellow security personnel attended the funeral. Senior officers, including the DIG Rajouri–Poonch Range, along with officials from the Jammu and Kashmir Police, Indian Army and CRPF, were present and paid tribute.

A guard of honour was given to Shaheed Amjid Pathan, and wreaths were laid on behalf of the security forces to honour his courage and sacrifice. Speakers remembered him as a fearless and disciplined officer who stood firm against terrorists and protected the country till his last breath.

“Emotional scenes were witnessed as people raised slogans in praise of the martyr’s bravery. His supreme sacrifice will always be remembered as a symbol of courage, duty and selfless service to the nation”.(KINS)
