Srinagar Dec 20 (KINS) Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Saturday hit back at the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) over its criticism, asserting that he does not believe in playing politics or misleading the public.
“I say this here as well, and I say it everywhere. I am not among those who play politics and mislead people,” Omar Abdullah told reporters according to news agency Kashmir Indepth News Service (KINS).
The Chief Minister said he has consistently maintained a balanced approach in his dealings with the Centre, acknowledging its support wherever it has been extended while also openly pointing out its shortcomings.
“Wherever the Centre has helped, I acknowledge it. Wherever there has been a shortcoming from the Centre, I say that too,” he said.
Omar Abdullah added that on most issues, the Centre has responded positively, leaving little room for complaint. However, he underlined that the question of restoration of statehood remains unresolved.
“I have said that in most matters, the Centre has left no room for complaint, but when it comes to the issue of statehood, apart from complaints, they have given us nothing,” the Chief Minister said. (KINS)
