Renowned Producer, Director Imtiyaz Bhat to Direct Film “Tapobhoomi : Aakhri Salaam” on J&K Police Sacrifice
“Based on true stories of courage, duty and supreme sacrifice”
Srinagar, Dec 28: A powerful cinematic tribute to valour and sacrifice is all set to take shape as a feature film titled “Tapobhoomi: Aakhri Salaam”, dedicated to the martyred personnel of the Jammu & Kashmir Police, is scheduled to begin shooting next month.
The film seeks to bring to the big screen the courage, resilience and indomitable spirit of Jammu & Kashmir Police personnel—stories of heroism and sacrifice that have largely remained away from the national limelight despite decades of service in the fight against terrorism.
Based on True Incidents and Ground Realities
According to the makers, “Tapobhoomi: Aakhri Salaam” is not a work of fiction but is firmly rooted in real incidents and lived realities. The narrative aims to portray the emotional and human side of police personnel who stood their ground in the face of violence to safeguard peace and national integrity in Jammu & Kashmir.
The film will present a raw and honest depiction of bloodshed, struggle, duty and sacrifice—offering a perspective that has rarely been explored in Indian cinema.
Direction and Production in Experienced Hands
The film is being jointly directed by Imtiyaz Bhat and Vinay Kumar Singh, and produced by Vijay Kumar (T3S Entertainment) and M. Tasleem (Vardhan Film Productions) under the banner of Sound Gear Productions.
Speaking about the project, director Imtiyaz Bhat said: ‘Tapobhoomi: Aakhri Salaam’ is our humble tribute to the brave sons of the Jammu & Kashmir Police who laid down their lives in the line of duty. This film is an attempt to present their courage, brotherhood and sacrifice in its truest form. What we are showing is not cinematic exaggeration, but the painful reality of blood, duty and loss that defines their journey.”
The directors said the film aims to present an unfiltered portrayal of the relentless challenges faced by the force while combating terrorism.
Not Just a Film, but a Tribute
The producers emphasized that “Tapobhoomi: Aakhri Salaam” is not merely a cinematic venture, but a sincere homage to martyred police personnel whose sacrifices often go unacknowledged.
Through the film, audiences across the country will gain a deeper understanding of the role played by the Jammu & Kashmir Police, their day-to-day struggles, and the immense personal sacrifices made in the defence of the nation.
Those associated with the project believe the story will deeply move viewers and serve as a reminder of the silent heroes who continue to stand guard without any expectation of recognition.
Official announcements regarding the shooting schedule and star cast are expected to be made soon.
